Google Project Management Apps

Google Project Management Apps standard edition offer Gmail, Google calendar, Google documents and Google sites for free. Also with the standard edition you can create your own web pages for free. For $10 dollars a year you can buy a domain name for your organization. This allows you to create user accounts on this domain name. There is also a premier edition which offers many other services for a small price per year. This paper will deal on with the standard edition.

Gmail and Google calendar can be accessed from mobile devices or Microsoft Outlook. Google Gmail has filters for spam and 25GB of storage per user. Google search technology helps you search for emails or messages very quick and they use Email Security to prevent data leaks. Google calendar can be used to enter meeting details and send out invitations. Share project calendars allow coworkers to edit and share events companywide or with only specific people.

Google documents allow administrators the right to control and manage employee’s rights to corporate documents. Using Google documents will allow workers to share spreadsheets and presentation remotely or internally to view. Documents also allow importing and exporting of documents with many different formats.

Google sites allow companies to share knowledge, build an intranet or build sites to share knowledge throughout the different departments. Google documents are very user friendly allowing just about anyone to display videos, slideshows, update web pages or create internal sites without expert programming skills. There are many layers of security to protect your important documentation.

One of the most important advantages of Google Apps is that Google runs the servers with a 99.9% uptime guarantee. There is no hardware or software required and data remains on Google’s infrastructure.
